We are devoted to members of our population aged 60 and over, and their caregivers, loved ones and those who serve them. The objective of this website is to provide you with as much information as possible to enable you, or your caregiver support network, to make informed decisions regarding your care choices. We recognize that a tiny bit of assistance can make the difference between remaining independent or premature placement in assisted living or nursing home settings.
The Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida is an Aging and Disability Resource Center that has a customer-focused system for information and referrals to public and private pay long-term support options. By being the point of entry to long-term care programs, fragmentation is reduced and optimal use of all resources is assured to assist those in need. Our service area includes: Charlotte, Collier, Desoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee and Sarasota counties.

How do we fulfill our mission?
The Elder Helpline responds to inquiries from a person, or on behalf of a person, regarding public and private resources and available services. Certified information specialists provide unbiased information. They can direct people to the resources of their choice that are most capable of meeting their needs; and when appropriate, contact the resource for the person to initiate services.
