Doug is a lifelong educator (Cognitive Psychology and Management) and small business consultant. He has taught Cognitive Psychology and MBA Management Courses in several universities. His consulting business is called Collaborative Solutions where he “facilitates positive change”.
As a consultant he features a new small business related process called 1 to 1 Business Clinic. This is a brief two meeting process aimed at overcoming nagging challenges in small businesses. He has done Strategic Planning, taught Dialogic Communication, been a mediator in San Francisco and Marin County and written about Conflict Management, is a certified Meeting Facilitator, and led a program in “Transformational Leadership” at Polk Community College. Doug was the Facilitator of “Continuing the Conversation”, a group of Sarasota Citizens examining the needs of an aging demographic, and has a resource oriented website called Engaged in Aging (www.engagedinaging.com).
Currently he is a Member of Aging Stakeholders Consortium in Sarasota and is a Board Member of Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida and serves on the Sarasota County Seniors Advisory Council. He has four sons and seven grandchildren in Florida and Pennsylvania, is the author of seven books, and enjoys reading, tennis, and is a Beach Bocce Champion!”
